Gameweek 12 kicked off with leaders Big Bite 2 facing the
league organisers, Lahore Tigers. Lahore
Tigers won the toss and changed their tactics against he strong all-round tam
BB2 by taking the new ball this time. The new tactics worked out well for the
Tigers as they swung the new ball in both directions and kept taking wickets
which helped apply pressure on the batting heavy BB2 team. Their first
partnership was the highest with 38 runs and the totals of the following
partnerships kept getting smaller and smaller until they finished off with a 10
run final partnership to complete their 20 overs on a very hard to defend 116
runs. Everyone from the Tigers team bowled and fielded well, but the pick of
the bowlers was Mohammed Nasar from Aylesbury. He picked up 3 wickets for minus
6 runs. Ozzy was the highest scoring batsman of the innings with 18 runs.
BB2 needed a good start with the ball and that’s exactly what
they got due to a lot of confusion in the running between the LT openers. However,
the Tigers started picking up momentum in the middle of the innings and had
crossed the BB2 total by the end of the 4th partnerships. The Big
Bite boys regrouped and took the game to the wire by bowling brilliantly to the
final LT pair and taking wickets on regular intervals. I was Lahore Tigers
though who came up top in the end and won this cracking battle by 11 runs. The
highest scorer was Saf Butt with 28 runs and the man of the match award went to
Mohammed Nasar thanks to his brilliant bowling spell earlier.
