The opening game of Gameweek 4 featured Kashmiri Panthers and London Lions captained by Saj Ali for the first time in absence of Umer Kayani and what a cracker this game panned out to be. Kashmiri Panthers were sent in to bat first who started off very well scoring 41 off the first partnership, 42 off the second and ending up on 117 at the end of the third pairs innings.
The Panthers looked well on their way to score a big total but were pegged down in the last two partnerships who only managed to get 40 between them. Credit to the London Lions for some tight bowling and fielding. Imran Shehzad top scored for the Panthers with 19 and Haroon Qayuum was the pick of the bowlers for the London Lions for figures of 2 for -1. In reply London Lions were under pressure after some impressive bowling from the panthers who restricted the opening pair to 26, but were destroyed by the second partnership who took the scored to 91 after smashing the most expensive over of 48 runs.
Panthers bounced back only conceding 23 off the third pair and 38 off the fourth partnership. The final pair required 6 to lead but made it hard work for themselves after being out three times in their second over. It came down to the last ball of the game where London Lions required 9 to win and were given a dreadful full toss after an almost perfect over which was given the treatment required and was dispatched for 14 due to the double ball rule. What a nail biting finish. Usman Farooqui top scored for Lions with 34 pick of the bowlers was Khurram Hussain for figures of 3-2. Man of the Match was awarded to Usman Farooqui for scoring 34 and bowling figures of 2-9.
The second game was also a cracker featuring Lahore Tigers who were looking to maintain their 100% record and Chesham Mobiles who were in search of a win to come off the bottom of the table. Chesham Mobiles were sent in to bat by the Tigers skipper Tanvir Butt. Chesham Mobiles started off flying and managed to make 45 off the first partnership but were pegged back instantly by the Tigers who only conceded 15 in the second partnership.
Chesham mobiles managed to get to 122 after four partnerships and looked set to be surpassing the 150 mark but were again pegged back by the Tigers who managed to reduce the runs and bowling the last pair out on -12 which took the score down to 110. A score the Tigers were happy with but Chesham Mobiles were kicking themselves for not getting more after the start they were given. Adnan top scored for Chesham Mobile with 25 and Safeer Butt was pick of the bowlers for the
Tigers with best figures by anyone this season of 5 for -23 courtesy of last double ball dismissal. In reply Lahore Tigers never got going and were losing wickets at regular intervals after only scoring 67 off the first three partnerships but had a decent fourth partnership which took the score to 106 and leaving the final pair to get 5 to lead but managed to score 38 and taking the score to 144 which secured the Tigers fourth successive win and maintained their 100% unbeaten start but definitely made it hard work for themselves. Credit to Chesham Mobiles for good captaincy and impressive bowling. Zeeshan Butt top scored for the Tigers with 16 and Naeem was the pick of the bowlers for Chesham Mobiles with 5 for -4. Man of the Match once again was Safeer Butt of Lahore Tigers for scoring 11 runs and season best figures of 5 for -23.
Punjabi Lions vs Big Bite Chesham
The final game of the day panned out to be another great match featuring Punjabi Lions and Big Bite Chesham. Big Bite were sent in to bat first and started off impressively scoring 80 off the first two partnerships but received a big blow by the third pair who only managed 6 runs between them good bowling by the Punjabi Lions. The fourth pair managed to improve the score by 35 reaching 121 but were again pushed back by impressive bowling by Punjabi Lions in the last partnership where Big Bite only managed 7 and posted a score of 128.
mir Akram top scored for Big Bite with 19 and Lewis Thompson was pick of the bowlers with 3 for -1. In reply Punjabi Lions started off slowly but steadily scoring 80 off the first three partnerships leaving the final two pairs to get in excess of 48 but due to some brilliant bowling and exceptional fielding by Big Bite the Punjabi Lions only managed 12 and 13 off the fourth and fifth partnership respectively. Punjabi Lions losing out by 23 runs. Lewis Thompson was also the pick of the batting for Punjabi Lions scoring 16 runs and Tajjamal Hussain the star bowler in this game for Big Bite with impressive bowling figures of 3 for -6. Man of the Match was also awarded to Tajjamal Hussain for guiding Big Bite to the win scoring 17 runs and figures of 3 for -6.
