The opening game of the final day featured two of the teams in the bottom half of the table in Punjabi Lions and rock bottom Kashmiri Panthers. A very close encounter to kick starts the day. The Panthers were sent into bat by Nabeel Ahmed skipper of the Punjabi Lions. Panthers started off strongly scoring 24 off the first over and 45 by the end of the first partnership., however the second pair managed to deduct the total by -1 at the close of their partnership taking the score to 44. Due to some brilliant bowling and fielding the Punjabi Lions restricted the Kashmiri Panthers to 124.
Mohammad Shakil was the pick of the batsmens with 33 and Asim Ditta was the stand out bowler for Punjabi Lions for figures of 5 for -16. In reply the Punjabi Lions started off on the back foot and slowly scoring just 13 but had plenty of partnerships to surplus the required score. By the end of the fourth partnership Punjabi Lions managed 95 leaving the final pair to get at least 29 to draw and it turned out to need a nail biting finish after Punjabi Lions managed to score 33 taking their score to 128 and wining by a 4 run margin. Anwar Ul Hasan managed to score 18 for Punjabi Lions making him pick of the bowlers whereas Awais Butt was pick of the bowlers with figures of 3 for -5. Mohammad Shakil took the man of the match credentials for his 33 runs and bowling figures of 2 for 4.
It all came down to the final game of the day to decide who will be crowned the winners of the 2016 T20 Indoor Leagues. A winner takes all game that was much anticipated and brought in crowds to watch a huge encounter. Lahore Tigers won the toss and elected to make use of the new ball. Big Bite started off strongly scoring 54 off the first partnership courtesy of 35 extras bowled by Lahore Tigers, which put the tigers on the back foot.
By the end of the third partnership Big Bite were sitting comfortably on 113 and managed another 108 in the final two partnerships taking the score to 221 due to some terrible bowling by the Tigers who gave away 121 extras which put on extra pressure onto the Tigers if the pressure of the final alone was not enough. Mubeel top scored for Big Bite with a score of 33 off just 11 balls whereas Ali Butt was the stand out bowler for the Tigers with figures of 4 for -2.
In reply the Tigers never look to get going after loosing unnecessary wickets which did not help the cause and managed to only score 64 runs off the first 3 partnerships and managed just 22 in the final 2 pairs and scoring a mild 86 and loosing out by 145 runs to the eventual winners Big Bite who were crowned the 2016 Indoor Leagues champions. Tusudak Hussain was pick of the batsmens for the Tigers with 14 whereas Tajjamal Hussain was pick of the bowlers for Big Bite with figures of 5 for -9. Mubeel of Big Bite claimed man of the Match for scoring 33 and bowling figures of 3 for -9.
