Lahore Tigers vs Kashmiri Panthers

The experienced and TPL Division One Champions Lahore Tigers went up against the new and youthful Kashmiri Panthers to kick-start the 2016 T20 Indoor League campaign with a bang. Lahore Tigers came out on top winning with a 108 run margin although it was not as easy as it suggests. The mighty Lahore Tigers posted an outstanding 273 in the first innings after being sent into bat by Awais Butt skipper of Kashmiri Panthers who opted to use the new ball. Asif Butt top scored with 37 runs which consisted of two 7’s.

Khurram Hussain was the pick of the bowlers for the Panthers having figures of 2-7. In reply Kashmiri Panthers scored a health 165 which is not bad for a team playing any cricket after 6 months. Abrar Khan top scored with 32 and the pick of the bowlers for Lahore Tigers was Zaheer Butt with figures of 3-10.

Not to forget a catch that already looks like catch of the season and tough for anyone to beat by Tanvir Butt diving forward for a low, was great for the camera. This game is not to go by to sum up the season as Kashmiri Panthers look like one of the better bowling units of the league. Once the rustiness has gone I’m sure they will be a to be reckoned with. Man of the Match was Toqeer Butt for his impressive 34 and figures of 2-12. What a cracking game to commence the season.

London Lions vs Punjabi Lions

The second game was the battle of the lions which turned out to be a fierce contest between the 2 sides. London Lions led by Umer ‘Bullet Tooth’ Kayani overcame Nabeel Ahmed’s Punjabi Lions, although it was a game with many twists and turns never knowing which team was going to come out on top. London Lions posted a score of 133 which im sure Punjabi Lions were pleased about and looked favourites to win going into the break. Ali Jin Khan top scored for London Lions with 31 smashing 2 7’s.

Aneel Ahmed was pick of the bowlers for Punjbi Lions with impressive figures of 3-3. In reply Punjabi Lions looked almost cerain to be cruising to a win after scoring a total of 70 runs in the first 2 partnerships but the London Lions pegged them back with some brilliant bowling and fielding and came out on top winning by 24 runs.

Nomi Aslam and Nabeel Ahmed both top scored with 15 runs apiece for the Punjabi Lions, whereas Hassnaain of London Lions had impressive bowling figures of 4 for -8 London Lions. Definitely a game worth watching. Man of the Match Ali Jin Khan for scoring 32 and 1-11 in bowling.

Fayyaz Mohammed and Khalid Bashir both the best figures of 2-6 for Chesham Mobiles but was not enough to win the game. In reply Chesham Mobiles were only able to post a score of 138 which fell short mainly due to the impressing bowling by Big Bite.
