Kashmir Panthers  vs Cornered Tigers

Coming to the back end of the second round of fixtures. Kashmiri Panthers came up against second places Cornered Tigers. Kashmiri Panthers lost the toss and were sent into bat.


As always Cornered Tigers make good use of the new ball restricting the opening pair to 25 runs with a couple of minus overs. However, the following Panthers pair did put up a fight scoring 41 runs and taking the team score to 66 and the subsequent pairs also making little immense scoring a further 60 runs between them ready for the final push. The Cornered Tigers fought back in super fashion having all 4 overs in the minus and thus bringing the score down to 108. Babar top scored with 18 for Kashmiri Panthers, whereas Naughman Latif was the pick of the bowlers for Cornered Tigers with 5 for -19.


In reply to the small target, Cornered Tigers started their chase in calm ordinary fashion. The opening scored 36 and the following partnership seemed to be rocked by some brilliant bowling and fielding by Kashmiri Panther who conceded just 19 runs and put some pressure on the batting side. Nevertheless, Cornered Tigers stuck to their mission and scored at terrific rates scoring 147 runs between the following 2 partnerships and taking the score to well beyond of the target at 202. The final partnership carried on in similar fashion and hit to all parts scoring a further 75 runs and taking the score to 277. Muhammad Jabran top scored with a magnificent 45 off 11 balls and Shuayb was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 1.


Cornered Tigers came out victorious winning by a mammoth 169 runs. Man of the Match was awarded to Nughman Latif for his 20 runs with the bat and outstanding bolwing figures of 5 for -19.

In a thrilling encounter between league toppers Lahore Tigers and a strong outfit in Chesham Mobiles, Lahore Tigers won the toss and elected to bowl first making use of the new ball.


Chesham Mobiles started off the brighter of the two sides with some sensible yet smart batting by the opening partnership which put on a healthy 57 runs. However the following partnership was rocked by Lahore Tigers who only conceded 9 runs. The following 2 partnerships did not manage to dent the score much scoring just 55 between them and taking the score to 111. The final pair under pressure managed to only score 20 runs and taking the score to just 131. Rohinn top scored for Chesham Mobiles with 23 runs and Ali Arif was pick of the bowlers with figures of 2 for 6 for the mighty Tigers.


Lahore Tigers opening partnership started off magnificently scoring at a high rate of knots and giving a huge head start to the team by scoring 55 runs. This was stopped by some terrific bowling and fielding by Chesham Mobiles who pegged Lahore Tigers back to 40 with a -15 partnership. The following partnership could only manage to put on 22 runs and leaving a big ask from the final 2 pairings with the pressure on the batting side. Skipper Safeer Butt and Mohammed Waqar did a magnificent job putting the Tigers on top in the game scoring 51 runs for the loss of just 1 wicket. This put Lahore Tigers on top again sitting on 111 and needing a further 21 from the final partnership. It was set up to be a nail biting finale. Chesham Mobiles did however bowl brilliantly and managed to earn a draw out of it. Skip Safeer Butt top scored for the Tigers with 31 and Zamir Ahmed was pick of the bowlers with 5 for -19.


A thrilling finale resulted in a draw in totals however due to the rulings Lahore Tigers were awarded the win due to scoring more 7s than the other team. Zamir Ahmer awas man of the match for scoring 11 runs but mainly for his destructive bowling figures of 5 for -19.
